A little more about me

was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where I received a B.A. in Judaic Studies. I was ordained by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the American Jewish University and also received a Master’s Degree in Experiential Education from the Fingerhut School of Education at the AJU.

I have presented to numerous groups on the value and process of experiential education and worked for many years in Jewish summer camps and supplementary schools. I worked for 5 years with Los Angeles Hebrew High School, developing curricula and coordinating retreats. I was proud to receive the SREL (Schechter Residency in Educational Leadership) fellowship in 2010. And as the campus rabbi of Ann and Nate Levine Academy, I had the privilege of teaching and interacting with students from 3 months through 8th grade.

I now serve as Associate Rabbi at Congregation Neveh Shalom in Portland, OR. My husband Duncan Gilman, our children Shiri and Matan, and I love being a part of the CNS and Portland community.
